1. What is an interlock?
Interlocking is an average of 12 to 13 French braids.
2. Is a crochet needle used in the process?
No. There is no crocheting, bonding, sewing, or latch hook.. Interlocking is only braiding.
3. Can I shampoo the hair?
Yes. Shampoo gently in the shower and allow the hair to air dry.
4. Can I apply heat to synthetic hair?
No. Never apply heat to synthetic hair. The hair will melt.
5. Must I relax my natural hair before the appointment?
There is no need to relax your hair, because all of your natural hair is braided.
6. Is Interlocking painful?
The process is quite comfortable. You will not have to take a pain reliever before, during or after the process.
7. How long will my interlock style last?
Some clients have gone for 3 months, but we only recommend that you keep interlocks between 4-6 weeks.
8. Will my hair grow while wearing interlocks?
Yes, There is no stress on your hair. No stress promotes healthy hair growth.
9. What’s the difference between human and synthetic hair and why do you charge more for human?
Straight human hair sheds and it’s difficult to work with. However, curly human hair is a lot easier for you to maintain. You can achieve the same look with synthetic hair at a fraction of the cost. Synthetic straight hair has a natural curl - style is already in place. We charge more for straight human because it’s difficult to work with.
10. Can I pull the hair from my braids?
If you pull on the hair, yes, there is a chance you will pull it out of your braid. But why would you yank and pull the hair? Interlocks is a style that requires a gentle hand. Once you learn how to manage the hair, you will be comfortable styling the hair. If you want a straight human hair, there is a strong chance you will pull the hair from the braid while using hot curlers.
